Profile and About James Fisher Photographer
James Fisher
“… Imagine that you are blind, inhabiting absolute blackness. One day a miracle cure is developed, whereby a single still image can be imprinted upon your visual cortex, enabling you to finally see. However, its just one image, and you must look at it for the rest of your life. What kind of picture would you choose?..”
Born and raised in the endlessly empty rural ennui of western New South Wales, Australia- James showed an early tendency towards daydreaming and the habitation of imaginary worlds. Later when encountering the plethora of subject matter presented by a hitherto unknown outside world, he arrived at the above proposition as a way of deciphering and defining his purpose with photography.
Convinced that the language of photography can be harnessed to actually say something, sometimes, and communicate a meaning that words can never express, even by the thousand. His work is a personal dialogue with humanity, along a single, solitary journey encompassing the globe and countless levels of culture.
